Android hand-held with NFC. This device looks and works like a mobile phone but cannot be used to make calls or browse the internet, keeping running costs down. To clock in or out, the employee simply waves the unit over an NFC, or near-field communication, tag held at the relevant location. Clockings can either be downloaded using wifi, if a connection is available, or a standard mobile phone SIM card. e-Log fixed i-Button terminal. This fixed clocking terminal, which includes a time display, is activated when a unique i-Button tag is held against it. Clocking data is collected from the terminal by touching a data transfer tag against the unit. It is imported into your easyLog software by inserting the data transfer tag into a reader attached to a PC.

This mains-powered terminal requires no cabling to a PC and is for indoor use. The buttons, which are about the size of a pound coin, can be attached to a key ring.
